RAPTURE: The (Music) Video Game

I’ve been working on this for a while and I’m super-excited to share it with you all! Last year I started making a wee game on Scratch which would double as a music video for my song ‘Rapture’. Then a month or so ago, my good friend Gus stepped in to port the game to Unity. And now we have a finished game!

it’s a-me!

Go check it out at https://shamblesmiller.itch.io/rapture and let me know what you think. If you like it and feel like helping out an idiot musician who just quit his day job to go study software development, why not buy some of my music? You can do so at http://shamblesmiller.bandcamp.com for any price you like. And if you can’t afford to pay for it, just download it for free ^__^

Alternatively, you could buy me a coffee with this link: Ko-fi.com/shamblesmiller

Hope you enjoy the game, and have a great day!

#Novembars

Hello! It’s been a good wee while since I last posted here. I’d love to say that’s because I’ve been busy writing, but I haven’t. To be honest, I’ve not been writing very consistently over the last wee while, and this past month I decided to do something about it. If you follow me on Twitter then you probably already know what it is, but I’ll explain for those who don’t (or for those of you who still follow me but muted me for talking about American Football and WWE all the time).

I’m currently doing a wee writing challenge I set for myself called Novembars. The aim is to write a short rap every day in November. You’d be correct in pointing out that I am not a rapper, but that’s kind of the point. I wanted to try to jump-start my brain by writing in a different way than I’m used to. Most of my raps are pretty dumb, but I’m really enjoying writing and recording them, which I guess is the most important thing.

I mostly record them on an iPad with an app called RapChat. The app provides you with a bunch of short beats to rap over (mostly between 30 seconds and 2 minutes long) and uploads to their site as well as Soundcloud. Subjects I’ve covered so far include: pizza, wrestling, hangovers, fantasy football, Skyrim, and there’s even a couple of freestyles in there for good measure.

I have just under a week left, so I hope you’ll join me on the rest of this wee challenge and check out what I’ve done so far. I’ll post the playlist below so you can have a listen. I hope to get back to writing a new record soon and in the meantime, all of my music is free to download. Get you some.

Til next time.

So I guess I’ve made all my music free and I think that is cool beans

Hey! In case you haven’t noticed me talking about it on Twitter or Facebook, I’ve made all of my music free for a wee while. So if you fancy downloading my whole back catalogue, including my recent(ish) EP Doing Stuff is Hard, then fill yer boots! Also, I’ll be announcing some new shows soon, and in the meantime you can catch me at Munros on Tuesday nights, hosting the open mic. Maybe I’ll see you there sometime!

Til next time!

WILL SWAP GIG TICKETS FOR STUFF AND THINGS

Hey! I’m playing a show at the 13th Note on the 15th of April and instead of selling tickets, I feel like swapping them for, well, anything really. I’m feeling whimsical.

So if you’d like to come to my gig, you can have a ticket in exchange for just about anything.

For example:

– A book you don’t want any more
– A really cool pen
– Unwanted t-shirts
– A toy dinosaur
– A poem (if you wrote it)
– A packet of batteries
– A can of beer
– A goldfish
– Money (if you really want to)
– A right good story (as long as I can tell it to people)
– Whatever’s in your desk drawer

These are just suggestions of course. It’s up to you!

So if you want a ticket just e-mail me at shamblesmiller@gmail.com and tell me what you’d like to swap for a ticket. Then I’ll e-mail you back and let you know if you got one of the tickets (there’s only about 12 available). If it’s a digital thing (like a poem for example) then the ticket will be on the door for you. If it’s a physical object (like an old skateboard) then I’ll either meet you before the show or on the door to MAKE DAT TRADE.

Nae underwear
Nae hair
Nae unsavoury material
Nae CDs (tapes are OK)

Look forward to hearing from you! Send me your junk!

P.S. I realise this sounds like how a Zooey Deschanel character would sell tickets but I DGAF soooooooooo xxx
