I should’ve probably done this next month, so the title would’ve been a bit snappier. Done what you ask? Well I’ll bloody well tell you.
Firstly, hello! You look awfy swish today. As some of you might know, I watch quite a lot of films. However, there are lots of films I still haven’t seen. Some I expect to be brilliant. Some I expect will be awful. Some I expect to be a brilliant mix of both. We’ll see. Anyway, I decided that I’d remedy this with a simple wee experiment. Basically, I watch a film every day for the whole of April. I’m wondering if it’ll change my attitude to watching films. For a movie buff, I can be quite picky. For instance, Pixar movies are better for the afternoon, can’t watch a superhero movie with lunch (unless I’ve seen it several times before), movies where things explode need beer, you get the idea. The main thing however is that by the end of the month I should have watched 30 films I haven’t seen before. If it works, I might try and keep it going for as long as I can.
I’ll also #shamblesiswatching some of them along the way, but not all of them.
As you might have noticed, we’re already in April. So, I must have watched some films already huh? Of course I have! Here are the first seven. I figured I’d need to say something about each film, but in order to make it fun (for myself) I need some sort of constraint on the number of words. See if you can spot which approach I’ve taken.
1. Change Up
Brilliant.

2. Midnight in Paris
Charming! Delightful!
3. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
Pretty shit, obviously.

4. Bad Teacher
Not sure, was drunk.

5. Midnight in Paris
Watched it twice. THAT good.
6. Gentlemen Broncos
Funny and quirky, in a good way.

7. Megamind
A funny, sweet film for all ages.
That’s all for the first instalment! If you have any suggestions for films that I should watch this month, give me a shout on twitter, facebook (where you can now message me directly) or e-mail me at shamblesmiller(at)gmail(dot)com. Pretty much anything goes, as long as I haven’t seen it before (inb4 “what about porn/snuff films”, just away and bile yer heid).
Oh and I hope to see some of you fine folks this Friday at the Captains Rest! Pop along for cake and lollipops and tunes!
Til next time folks!
love Shambles
